Introduction: The studiowner Media Library consists of several hundred archival audio and video files made by the clients, staff, and friends of the Long View Farm recording studio during (mainly) the nineteen-seventies and eighties.

The genre of this recorded material is rock 'n' roll, blues, pop, country, jazz and jazz-fusion, with the inclusion of an extensive selection of recorded interviews with rock stars and travel videos filmed in some cases as early as 1968.

Recording artists either featured or interviewed include notables such as James Taylor, B. B. King, Taj Mahal, Keith Richards, Steven Tyler, Pete Wolf, Crosby Stills & Nash, Melanie, Arlo Guthrie, Gary Wright, John Lennon, Larry Coryell, Oregon, John Belushi, Little Richard, Stuff, Jay Ferguson, Stevie Wonder, Frank Zappa, Frank Carillo, 'Til Tuesday, Justin de Villeneuve, Jeff Christie, and many others.

The audio and video files are in most cases of exceptionally high quality, and may be played in real time (streamed) using the Flash(tm) technology already resident in your computer. Alternatively, the files may be downloaded (for personal use only) in m4a/mp4 (iPod) formats. Additional production data, descriptions, photos, and links to relevant text essays are provided, selection by selection.

Tek' Notes: The faster your internet connection is, the better the audio files will sound streaming, and the better the video clips will look. Broadband cable works best, producing "near-CD" quality audio, and video images of high resolution. DSL is very good, but not great. 56K (dialup), while it works, does not work well. In any case, you should have a good set of loudspeakers (e.g., Logitech) attached to your computer, and a place where you can play them loud.

Credits: This Media Library was assembled and edited by the "studiowner", Gil Markle, who accepts all responsibility for the choice and presentation of its (principally) archival contents. Other credits go to David Markle and Chris Breault (Flash programming and internet execution), to Liz Ichton (web site graphics and design), and of course to the original composers, performers, and producers of this amazing material.
